It's Here: Gerel and Kishon's Wedding (Florida)!

I've been looking forward to post this wedding that was one of the 3 weddings in 6 days. Talk about the power of networking, Craig (from Alecia and Craig's wedding) told Sherill from (www.okmon.com) about me. She then told Sherry, an event planner from (www.chainofeventsbahamas.com). Sherry then introduced me to the lovely couple. I was impressed with them even before I met them as I read on the couple's wedding website that Gerel captured the attention of an entire aeroplane in mid-flight to ask Gerel, "Will you marry me?" I think that's soooo romantic!!! As you'll see in the wedding pictures of the bride getting ready, Gerel continued the trend of being a true romantic. Later on in the wedding, I saw where he learned that from. The love between him and his mother and between his parents is unmistakably clear! During my initial meeting with them, I suggested that they incorperate something from Gerel's Trinidadian roots and Kishon's Bahamian roots. They had already decided on steel pan players which represents Gerel's background and after some thought, they suggested Carnival players to represent Kishon. Well, thanks to Sherry, it all came together great! Everyone had a blast! Sherry and Maya did a FABULOUS job as event planners! I observed them busily scurring around the entire time yet maintaining a professional aura that kept everyone at ease. The flowers are true works of art, the dj was awesome, the food delicious, the makeup artist from Mac did her thing, and the steel pan players really added a touch of class! Congrats to everyone on a job well done! MAKE SURE you check out www.chainofeventsbahamas.com as I am totally floored each time I see it! They are based in Florida and Bahamas for all your event planning needs. Gerel and Kishon, it was a pleasure working with you and may the love that you obviously shared on that day just continue to overflow as the years go by!

3 Weddings in 6 Days!

When it rains, it pours in not just an expression used to describe the weather in Florida but it sure describes the past week for me as I had 3 weddings in 6 days!!! I am grateful and honored that my clients and viewers appreciate the quality of my work resulting in referrals and booking. Thank you! The past few days have been spent sorting through and editing thousands of images. I am going to have to create some more galleries on my main website (www.shellyedwards.com) to showcase these and others I have coming up as there are too many beautiful ones that it is hard to summarize for the blog. I loved each and every one of the weddings because they were creative and showcased the personality of each couple. I was always excited to see the dress, flowers, decor, and the love shared among everyone. For now, I'll be putting one picture from each wedding that I think gives you a taste of the flavor of each wedding. I'm trying to add the rest between now and Tuesday so check back soon! :-) I also strongly encourage viewers and your friends to book early as I regretably had to decline two wedding offers just this week as I was already booked. I have also began getting bookings for next year so please don't delay. Until next time, have a lovely day! :-)

Mervis and Errol's Destination Wedding (South Florida)

This past weekend, I had a very enjoyable experience photographing Mervis and Errol's destination wedding in South Florida. I first spoke with them earlier this year when they found me online. It was an honor that they not only loved my work but trusted me even though they live in Canada. We were grateful for the beautiful weather we had as there has been constant thunderstorms practically every evening here for the past few weeks. Mervis was breathtaking in her elegant dress and had a naturally beautiful smile. Errol was looking dashing and as you will see, they both definitely enjoyed their love at the wedding!

The wedding was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (www.cpwestpalmbeach.com) in West Palm Beach. The vibrant colors there added to the richness of the pictures. After the ceremony, one of my dreams finally came through: I photographed them at the Breaker's Hotel (www.thebreakers.com) on Palm Beach. Back when I would just visit South Florida, a friend took me to Palm Beach island and I was in constant amazement of it's opulence. I remember us driving onto the premises of the Breakers and hurriedly drove off because we were not sure what it was and didn't want to be trespassing. Ever since I became a professional photographer, I've wanted to photograph a wedding couple in front of the building and I finally did! :-)

Thanks Mervis and Errol for giving me the pleasure of sharing in your day. Thanks also to your mom, dad, bridal party, and your friends for making me feel as if I was a part of your family for a day. Have a love and fun filled marriage! :-) Finally, thanks to Michael Adderley for sharing some of the great fine art textures that I used on some of the pictures :-)
